THE 7th DESIGN CHALLENGE WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SHAPE MEMORY AND SUPERELASTIC TECHNOLOGIES (SMST)
May 4 – 8, 2026 ( La Jolla Torrey Pines, CA, USA)
CASMART STUDENT DESIGN CHALLENGES are held biennial as part of the SMST conference where students are tasked with designing “The material” or designing “with the material” using shape memory alloy (SMA) technology. Students have the opportunity to showcase their creativity by applying engineering theories and design principles, and leveraging CASMART and SMST members’ experience to address SMA design challenges in aeronautics, astronautics, medical industry, energy, and else.
